The sieve
tray as classic transfer element is the most cost competitive
variation of trays. The operating range of these sieve perforated trays is
less than that of valve trays due to the higher leakage rate.
Due to the wide operating
range handled, the valve trays are now
the most commonly used type of mass transfer trays. This tray differentiates
from the others by it's ability to handle high capacities at excellent mass
transfer efficiencies over a wide operating range.
The different valves optional in combination of light
and heavy units allow the optimated layout of this trays.
Depending on the application, a specific type and size of valve is
selected:
V1: Standard valve with integrated legs. Tray floor orifice is sharp
edged.
V4: Same basic design as the V1 valve. A venturi-shaped orifice in the tray
deck is
used to reduce pressure drop.
V6: Bell shaped valve seated on venturi-shaped orifice above the tray deck.
V0: Fixed valve unit with defined openings.
A3: Flush opening in the tray deck.
A4: Cage valve with venturi-shaped orifice in the tray deck.
The
conventional bubble cap tray is
well-proven in applications having:
very large
loading rates
very low
liquid loadings
very low
gas loadings
constant
liquid hold up
low
leckage rates
There
are different types of tray hardware.
Rauschert can supply these elements in all commonly needed materials:
manway
hardware
wedge
clamp
support
ring bolting plate clamp with welded bolt
support
ring bolting plate clamp with integral T-bolt
